WPM weekend away!

On the 19th – 21st of May we had our second annual weekend away to Cefn lea in mid Wales.

It was a great chance for us to spend time together praying, worshiping and just having fun. Cefn lea is sat within a beautiful valley surround my field, forests and NO Phone signal so it allowed a lot of our group to switch off from busy and hectic lives back home.

During the weekend Deborah led us in small groups to explore and discuss God’s calling for each one us.

We also had plenty of free time during the weekend! Walks, golf, basketball, bananagrams, the Helen quiz and all star Mr and Mrs made an appearance.

Daily Prayer Pattern for 2017

We have a new pattern of prayer for 2017!

On Mondays the team commits to pray for anyone who requests prayer but we do not meet to pray.

On Tuesdays the God at Work Group meets, this is a small group for those who are in full time work or education.  This group meets at 7 pm to 8.30 pm every fortnight.  During Lent we will be studying Dethroning Mammon, the Diocese’s recommended Lent Book. Email us for more information.

On Wednesdays we will meet to pray at midday in Zuri Coffee, 37 Lichfield Street, Wolverhampton, WV1 1EQ.

On Thursdays we meet to pray at 9 am in Zuri Coffee.

On Fridays we will meet at 10.30 am for Breakfast and Bible Study, the venue for this will change from week to week so you need to email us for more info.

If you would like us to pray for you please use this link to email us your prayer request in confidence.  You can also send a Message on Facebook: Wolverhampton Pioneer Ministries or Twitter: @wolvespm or Instagram: wolvespm.

Happy New Year!

What will 2017 bring?  What do you hope for?  What challenges have you set yourself?  What promises have you made?  What will be different?

We started the year at Vitalise on 1 January 2017 listening to God’s question to Adam: Where are you?

We thought about this verse in the light of the beginning of the Gospel of John and the Christmas story: John 1:1-4 and John 1:10-14.  We thought about the question “where are you?” in the light of what these passages tell us about Jesus.

We reflected on where we are emotionally, spiritually, physically.  We thought of God in Christ constantly asking us where we are and calling us back into a relationship with Him and one another.

We committed to ask each other throughout the year “where are you?”

Baptism, Confirmation and Membership Service 2017

We’ve spent the summer as a community thinking about baptism and confirmation and how we live as disciples of Jesus.  We’ve spent the early autumn thinking about the choices we make as followers of Jesus and how our faith impacts on the day to day things.  This series will continue until Advent.

We are really excited to share with you details of our service of Baptism, Confirmation and Membership which is on Sunday 23 October at 6 pm at St Chad and St Mark in Penn Fields.

We’ve got two candidates for baptism, those candidates plus six more for confirmation and all those candidates plus one more being admitted into membership of the Methodist Church.  Please do join us as we celebrate faith, belonging and commitment!

Summer 2016 update

The holiday season is upon us and this means two things for the Vitalise community: first, Soul Survivor; and second, we have to start getting ready to say goodbye to people who are off to university or starting jobs having graduated.  So, it’s fun before farewells.

Soul Survivor is 27 to 31 July, if you’re not going pray for those who are!

Throughout the summer at Vitalise we will be journeying through materials to help us prepare for our baptism, confirmation and membership service on Sunday 23 October.  For those who have already made these commitments it’s a chance to reflect on the promises we’ve made and for those who are exploring faith it’s a chance to think more deeply about what Christians believe and why.

Morning Prayer and Chaplaincy work will continue throughout most of the summer, although there will be no Morning Prayer during the first two weeks in August (Monday 1 August to Friday 12 August). Morning Prayer will be back as usual on Tuesday 16 August.  Do check Facebook and Twitter for up to date information.

Please pray for those who have already left to start new jobs and for those preparing to start new jobs.  Please also pray for those who are getting ready to go to Uni and those awaiting exam results over the summer.  It’s always a time of change and transition.

If you want to find out more, or if you’ve got any queries please email us!
